Child Care Aware® of Missouri evaluates its programs and services against the highest standards. In addition to working to achieve NACCRRA Quality Assurance (expected by the end of 2011), our continuous quality improvement efforts for our statewide programs and services is guided by the following 10 desired results:
Professional Development
- The clock-hour class needs of members of the child care, early education and youth development workforce are met by supply.
- Staff members from child care, early education and youth development programs have new knowledge in child development, curriculum and assessment, child guidance, relationships with families, and inclusion of children with diverse developmental needs, as a result of participation in clock-hour and credit-hour classes.
- Staff members from child care, early education and youth development programs implement new practices in child development, curriculum and assessment, child guidance, relationships with families, and inclusion of children with diverse developmental needs, as a result of professional development, including coursework and alternative forms of professional development (e.g., coaching).
- Staff members from licensed child care, early education and youth development programs develop professional attitudes and approaches to their careers.
- Families in all parts of Missouri have access to child care and early education programs accredited by NAEYC, NAFCC or MOA.
- Child care, early education and youth development programs in Missouri are an integral component of the network of child abuse prevention programs.
Referrals and Consumer Education
- Parents are more informed consumers of child care, early education and youth development programs because they have new knowledge about licensing and quality indicators.
- Parents find that Child Care Aware® of Missouri referrals and/or consumer education are integral to the child care choice/decision they make and their satisfaction with it.
Community Outreach
- State and regional/local-level public and private organizations or groups use Child Care Aware® of Missouri data when planning and making decisions about child care systems and services.
- Key regional/local-level planning groups with a focus on planning for economic development, human service infrastructure or community betterment see Child Care Aware® of Missouri as an essential partner.
