Division of Developmental Disabilities

The Division of Developmental Disabilities implements a statewide system of supportive services that focus on assuring health and safety, supporting access to community participation, and increasing opportunities for meaningful employment. The Division offers evaluation and case management to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Mid Missouri Legal Services Corporation

 Mid-Missouri Legal Services Corporation provides free civil (non-criminal) legal assistance to low income individuals/families for issues including housing, family law, public benefits, veterans’ benefits, consumer fraud, healthcare, children’s well-being, special education and relief from domestic violence.

Missouri Valley Community Action Agency

Missouri Valley Community Action Agency provides services to Carroll, Chariton, Johnson, Lafayette, Pettis, Ray, and Saline county. These services include: head start programs, workshops, crisis intervention, rental assistance, energy assistance, home weatherization, community services, back to school events, and more.

First Steps

First Steps offers coordinated services and assistance to young children with special needs and their families. It is designed for birth to age 3, who have delayed development or diagnosed conditions that are associated with developmental disabilities.

Chariton County Health Department

Chariton County Health Department provides a number of services to the community. These services includes: birth & death certificates, emergency planning, environmental services, disease prevention, mammogram van, WIC, school health, clinic services, and more.

Chariton County Extension Center

Chariton County Extension Center is an extension of University of Missouri. Through statewide offices, publication and web-based services, extension faculty in every county of Missouri continue to carry the benefits of education throughout the entire state.

Parents as Teachers- Keytesville

Parents as Teachers promotes optimal early development, learning, and health of young children by supporting and engaging their parents and caregivers. Specifically, this program consists of personal visits, group meetings, screenings, and acts as a resource network.
